ABOUT KAELA

I’m a Seattle-based designer, illustrator, and multidisciplinary visual designer with 15+ years of experience creating original artwork and commercially focused design.

My work combines playful illustration, fresh, trend-aware color development, and strategic design thinking. I create seamless repeats, coordinated print stories, placement graphics, packaging, and visual systems for children’s, beauty, publishing, and lifestyle brands.

My process often begins by hand—through drawing and painting—before moving into Procreate, Illustrator, and Photoshop to develop repeat-ready artwork and production-ready assets. I enjoy balancing imagination with commercial application and collaborating with creative, product, and marketing teams from early concept through final execution.

Over the past decade as an independent designer, I’ve led projects across children’s media, beauty, publishing, and lifestyle.

Raised in the countryside of northwest Washington, I still find much of my inspiration in nature, small creatures, strange little stories, and a touch of magic.
